Overview:
This seminar provides professionals the opportunity to enhance skills needed to respond to families experiencing early pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or newborn death. Participants learn about the grief process and the uniqueness of perinatal loss. They also gain an increased awareness of families’ needs and wants after the loss of a baby.
Objectives: at the end of the training participants will be able to:
- Define perinatal loss
- Identify common myths and misunderstandings about grief
- Describe ways to assist parents in the grief process
Light breakfast and afternoon snack will be provided
