AVAILABLE POSITIONS AT HSCMD:

FIMR Project Specialist: Full Time

The FIMR Project Specialist position is primarily responsible for day-to-day implementation of the FIMR Project. This includes supporting other contracted FIMR staff who abstract case information, conduct parent interviews, and provide bereavement support. Other duties include preparing for, scheduling, and attending all FIMR-related meetings, obtaining and tracking medical records, and serving as program liaison to hospital and other medical records departments. In addition, the FIMR Program Specialist position works with key members of the community to determine how best to ensure that together these community leaders are able to develop recommendations and implement FIMR actions. This position is responsible for preparing for and chairing committee meetings, tracking and reporting data, developing written reports, and other documentation pertaining to the program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and adhere to a FIMR confidentiality protocol that complies with professional standards of practice with respect to confidentiality. Ensure that confidentiality is maintained throughout the FIMR process
  • Assure that each nurse abstractor consultant signs a Data Use Agreement with the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) Bureau of Vital Statistics on the schedule as determined by FDOH
  • Work closely and coordinate efforts with the program’s nurse abstractor consultants to assure all medical records are abstracted and summarized in the FIMR database and meeting documents, as required
  • Coordinate and sustain a local voluntary FIMR CRT
  • Maintain a roster of CRT members and ensure it is updated as needed
  • Ensure that a minimum of 52 cases are reviewed by the FIMR CRT annually, with a minimum of 13 case reviews quarterly, that shall include abstraction of all available records, maternal and family interviews conducted, case summary presentation, and team review with recommendations. Case reviews shall be entered into the FIMR database
  • Monthly mailing of bereavement packets to women and families experiencing a fetal or infant loss including information on bereavement support services; follow up as needed
  • Coordinate/manage monthly CRT meetings to include creating calendar invitation, scheduling meeting via virtual platform, ensure all CRT members receive pertinent meeting documents in advance, record and keep minutes from CRT, and obtain signed in-kind forms following each CRT meeting
  • Provide community presentations on FIMR and/or FIMR related activities
  • Participate in statewide FIMR calls, webinars, and trainings as they are held
  • Coordinate and sustain a local voluntary FIMR CAG including, but not limited to, updating CAG roster on a regular basis, recruiting/identifying new CAG members from the community, identify appropriate CAG meeting speakers, provide Speaker Agreement forms, send CAG meeting invitations to all designated individuals, record and keep attendance records, obtain signed in-kind forms following each CAG meeting
  • Prepare for, attend, and provide leadership and guidance to the CAG. Preparation includes agenda development with a focus on moving committee initiatives to action.
  • Assure all CAG work is coordinated and documented
  • Prepare for quarterly CAG meetings by developing a summary of CRT meetings findings and a meeting agenda
  • Maintain program related data in hard copy and electronic formats using computer-based software applications to generate documents and reports as needed
  • Develop an Annual FIMR Report that highlights CRT findings and recommendations, CAG interventions, gaps in service, and other relevant information with input from the Coalition
  • Develop an annual FIMR CAG Action Plan and FIMR CAG Action Plan update

Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to analyze data and present findings
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and/or governmental regulations
  • Able to prioritize and work well at a fast pace and changing professional environment
  • Current knowledge and experience of FIMR is preferred
  • Experience leading, mobilizing, and/or chairing committees is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to represent the Coalition in the community in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of local health and human service system and providers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Requires reliable transportation, valid drivers’ license, good driving record and automobile insurance for travel throughout Miami-Dade County
  • Adhere to HIPPA guidelines
  • Requires occasional travel in Florida for training and conferences.
  • Proficiency in Canva

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, public health, maternal and child health, business administration, or related field
  • A minimum of one-year professional experience in the government or non-profit sector
  • Experience working with diverse communities, organizations, and agencies
  • Experience developing and creating program related educational/informational materials

Salary Range: $45,000 – $50,000
